About The Khayber Restaurants
Many see The Khayber as the best Indian
restaurant in Belfast, but officially, The Khayber has been
voted among
the
Belfast Telegraph's Top Ten Restaurants (across all categories) and
consistently get excellent reviews for restaurant critics and and the
general public alike.
The restaurants are named for the historic mountain trade
route between Central Asia and South Asia known as the Khyber Pass.
With the alternate spelling of Khayber begin an international reference
to how the word is pronounced in the local dialect of the region
— which is also the birthplace of the restaurants' founder
Mr. Khan (well-known for opening one of Northern Ireland's first and
most popular Indian restaurants, The Mogul on Great Victoria Street in
Belfast).
